Going to the cinema always gives me a blood rush. Of course I love movies and last week Tuesday, I hit the Silverbird Cinemas at the Ikeja City Mall (ICM) in Lagos about 8:30pm to see Bad Moms.
The movie was scheduled for 9:20pm so I was glad I arrived early.
I still had some time to kill so I strolled into Shoprite and picked a pack of salad and flipped it open to eat even before I paid for it...
[Fast Forward]
It was 9:25 and I was comfortably settled in the cinema hall to see the movie.
I saw the movie as planned and below are 7 things you might like or dislike about the 2016 movie, Bad Moms:
- Mila Kunis
- Suspense
- Conflict
- Fast driving
- Romance
- Funny
- Realities of parenting
Mila Kunis
If you're a fan of Mila Kunis (Same actress from Jupiter Ascending, Friends With Benefits and The Book of Eli), then there's a chance that you're going to fall head over heels with her all over again. She put up another sterling performance in this flick.
Suspense
The suspense guage of this movie might not score an A1 but it was impressive especially in the way she drew up her alliance with two other mums whose lifestyles and love lives are not quite on the same pedestal with hers. The scene of her session with the love doctor and her husband was one I never saw coming. In all, the level of suspense throughout the course of the movie was not excellent but was not a wash off either.
Conflict
There's enough conflict in this movie for an entire street and for Mila Kunis, these include both internal and external conflicts. So, if you love conflicts in movies, this is one to see.
Fast Driving
Not the kind of fast driving or cop chase scenes you would see in Fast and Furious but Mila Kunis finds a reason to drift through the streets in this movie and you might want to find out why she had to get into that Vin Diesel mode in this one.
Romance
Oh yes! There was a dash of romance in this one; complete with kisses and much more. It's not all about romance though else I would have been bored to death. There's also the use of lewd lines in a couple of scenes I must add.
Funny
This was one of the funniest movies I have seen lately and I have to give it to the writers of 'The Hangover.' Despite the grave theme of parental responsibilities and all of that, the movie throws up several hilarious episodes that left me in a laughing fit while seeing the movie.
Realities of parenting
Oh yes! That was all over the place in this movie. Parenting is not a honeymoon and we are reminded why it isn't in Bad Moms. However, we are also shown that with the right effort and the right mindset, great things can be accomplished.
I'm rating this one 6.5 and I really wouldn't mind seeing it all over again. What would you rate it?

I'm a huge fan of Kunis. I love her eyes and the power of conviction she brings forth. Good stuff.
